KCRC awards $845.5 million West Rail contracts
 
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) today (Thursday) announced the award of four railway operating systems contracts for West Rail Phase I at a total value of HK$ 845.5 million.
Contract DB-1700, in the sum of HK$180.76 million, is awarded to Nissho Iwai-Nabco Consortium for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of platform screen doors for the nine West Rail stations.
Contract DB-1650, in the sum of HK$329.25 million, is awarded to Alcatel CGA Transport for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the Automatic Revenue Collection system which consists of a full range of ticketing equipment for all West Rail stations.
Contract SI-1120, in the sum of HK$255 million, is awarded to Constructions Industrielles De La Mediterranee for the design, manufacture, installation, testing and commissioning of all escalators for the nine West Rail stations.
Contract SI-1121, in the sum of HK$80.45 million, is awarded to Ryoden Lift & Escalator Co., Ltd for the design, manufacture, installation, testing and commissioning of all the lifts for West Rail stations, headquarters, depot and ancillary buildings.
A KCRC spokesman said all the contracts are awarded through competitive tendering procedures which comply with World Trade Organisation requirements.
With the award of the above four contracts, a total of 15 civil construction contracts and 10 railway systems contracts have so far been awarded at a total value of about HK$ 25.15 billion.
The remaining two civil construction contracts will be awarded by the end of this year.
