Hong Kong Red Cross 50th Anniversary / KCR 90th Anniversary Commemorative Tickets
 
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Hong Kong Red Cross and Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation's 90th year of service to the community, the two organisations are jointly issuing a set of commemorative tickets, which go on sale tomorrow (15 April 2000).
The ticket set, which includes two commemorative tickets of different design, will be sold for $50.They will be available at all KCR East Rail stations (except Lo Wu and Racecourse) and all Light Rail Customer Services Centres. Proceeds of the tickets will be donated to the Hong Kong Red Cross.
Each ticket is valid for two journeys on East Rail standard class for any destinations between Hung Hom and Sheung Shui stations (except Racecourse Station) between 7 May and 7 June 2000, and for travel on Light Rail on 7 May 2000.A phone accessory strap will be given out as souvenir together with each ticket set.
Besides issuing these commemorative tickets, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation will support the Hong Kong Red Cross by organising a series of blood donation activities for both the staff and the public.
Blood donation counters will be set up at four KCR offices in May, and staff are encouraged to participate.Moreover, blood donation days will be held at Light Rail Siu Hong Stop and East Rail Mongkok Station on 5 May and 6 May respectively.On 5 May, a light rail vehicle will be converted into a mobile blood donation centre and stationed at Siu Hong from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm popular artists and celebrities will participate in the activities.On 6 May, a blood donation counter will be set up at Mongkok Station from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm members of the public are welcome to join these meaningful events.
