Disruption of train services today
 
The KCR East Rail train service between Fo Tan and Tai Po Market stations was disrupted in the late afternoon today.
At 1604 hrs today, the supply of traction to train operation was interrupted as a result of tripping at north of Fo Tan Station. After investigation and emergency switching, the traction supply was restored at 1631 hrs.Train service gradually resumed normal afterwards.
During the affected period, train service between Fo Tan and Tai Po Market stations was temporarily suspended while the services between Hung Hom and Fo Tan as well as between Tai Po Market and Lo Wu stations were also affected.Announcements at stations and on trains were made immediately for passengers' information.It is estimated that about 4,000 passengers were affected.
"The cause for the tripping is now under investigation," said Mrs Tracy Lai, Public Affairs Manager - East Rail.She also apologised for the inconvenience caused to the travelling public.
