The KCR East Rail apologised for the inconvenience caused.
 
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation today expressed deep sympathy for a 43-year old worker who was injured after being struck by lightning at a West Rail work site. The worker, who is employed by a sub-contractor for the Corporation's West Rail project, was working at a work site in Yuen Long when the accident happened.
A spokesman for the Corporation said that the safety record of West Rail has been consistently above Hong Kong's industry average, and it is unfortunate that this accident should have happened.KCRC and its contractors will continue to do the utmost to meet the highest safety standard at its work sites.
