Intercity Passenger Services adjusted to meet with the change of train schedules of the mainland
 
To be in line with the adjustment of train schedules of the Ministry of Railways of the Mainland, starting from 21 October 2000, Beijing-Kowloon and Shanghai-Kowloon through trains will not call at Guangzhou Station.
Starting from 21 October, the train plying between Beijing and Kowloon will only call at seven intermediate stations, namely Dongguan (Changping), Guangzhou East, Shaoguan, Changsha, Wuchang, Hankou and Zhengzhou; the trains plying between Shanghai and Kowloon will only call at four intermediate stations namely, Dongguan (Changping), Guangzhou East, Shaoguan and Hangzhou East. Beijing & Shanghai through trains, operate on alternate days and both journey times take about 28 hours.
To meet with the re-organisation of train schedules in the mainland, the train number of the Intercity through trains to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, will also be changed at the same time. There will be no major change in the timetables except for Zhaoqing-Kowloon through train No.T362/T364 and the Beijing-Kowloon and Shanghai-Kowloon through trains where slight adjustment in the arrival time of the some intermediate stations will be made.
