This month in Trackrecord:KCRC makes history, celebrates history

The period covered in the latest issue of Trackrecord, the staff newsletter of KCRC, was an eventful one for the Corporation, and this is reflected in the main stories that are featured.
Our cover story looks at the KCR 90th Anniversary Charity Dinner, which was attended by VIPs from government and the business community as well as the Corporation’s senior management. In addition to a TVB Jade televised extravaganza, the occasion was also an opportunity for KCRC to present three cheques of HK$1 million each to charity. These were the Community Chest of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Red Cross and the Lifeline Express.
Also in the same issue, we cover the ceremony that marked the historic laying of the first track for West Rail. On hand to drive the silver spike was Mr Donald Tsang, Financial Secretary.
Other stories in the current issue highlight KCRC’s dedication to customer service and its culture of caring in a new section that profiles the "good deeds" performed by staff members in the course of their duties. Additionally, we look at the activities that promote safety within the Corporation as well as the volunteer work our staff do in the community to help those in need.
