KCR through train tickets for Chinese New Year on sale starting from 7 December 2000
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation today announced that through train tickets for journeys between Hung Hom and Guangzhou East/Dongguan (Changping), Foshan/Zhaoqing, Beijing/Shanghai and intermediate stations for the period of Chinese New Year (15 January to 22 February 2001) will be put on sale starting from 7 December 2000 (Thursday) at 7 am.
On 7 December, passengers can purchase the tickets at KCR East Rail Intercity Passenger Services Centre at Hung Hom Station, Ticket Offices at Mong Kok, Kowloon Tong and Shatin stations, KCR Light Rail Customer Services Centre (Tuen Mun Ferry Pier Terminus) and the designated outlets of the appointed ticket agents including China Travel Service (HK) Ltd (only the branch offices at Wanchai, Mong Kok, Kwun Tong and Tsuen Wan); Guangdong (HK) Tours Ltd (only the branch offices at Chai Wan and Nathan Road 〔near MTR Prince Edward Station〕); China Railway (HK) Holdings Ltd (Head office at Chatham Road South) and HYFCO Travel Agency Limited (only the branch offices at Hang Lung Centre, Causeway Bay). Starting from 8 December, through train tickets for Chinese New Year will also be available at all outlets of appointed ticket agents.
Passengers are also welcome to book the tickets through the Intercity Tele-ticketing Hotline at 2947 7888 with the use of credit cards for tickets to Guangdong. To standardize the starting time of ticket sales on 7 December, the service hours of the Intercity Tele-ticketing Hotline will be temporarily changed from 05:00 – midnight to 07:00 – midnight. The hotline service hours will resume normal the next day, 8 December onwards.
