International awards for KCRC annual report: this month in Trackrecord
In the new issue of Trackrecord, we look at KCRC’s proud achievement in winning seven local and international awards for its 1999 Annual Report. Among the honours received by the Corporation were Silver and Millennium awards from the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA), a Platinum award from the Hong Kong Society of Accountants, and a Gold award at the 2000 Galaxy Awards in New York.
These awards are gratifying as they indicate the Corporation has done an effective job in telling the KCRC story to its stakeholders in Hong Kong and around the world.
Also in the current issue are stories featuring two programmes that highlight KCRC’s commitment to continuously improving customer service. One is an entirely new programme – Champion Service – initiated by East Rail that encourages all staff to provide helpful, courteous service to passengers. Another programme marked its 10th anniversary in November. Known as the Passenger Liaison Group, this programme has been gathering together groups of Light Rail and East Rail passengers to seek their advice on service improvements. Many of the suggestions made by passengers during the past 10 years have been implemented by KCRC.
You can also read about the progress that has been made on West Rail and the East Rail Extensions, the capital projects that are behind KCRC’s greatest expansion in its 90-year history. These are in addition to stories that look at the Corporation’s on-going support of worthwhile charities in Hong Kong, its environmental initiatives and programmes that promote safety.
Trackrecord, the official staff newsletter of the KCRC, is published once a month and distributed to all employees, the Corporation’s key stakeholders, consulates, senior government officials, the media and community leaders.
