Collapse of scaffolding
A scaffolding put up by KCRC contractors for carrying out maintenance work on the exterior wall of Sun Tuen Mun Centre in Tuen Mun collapsed at about 1.45 pm today (Thursday).
The scaffolding, measuring about 150 metres by 15 metres, fell down onto Tuen Tsing Lane, a short access road to Sun Tuen Mun Centre and the Light Rail depot. A 40-year-old female maintenance worker suffered minor scratch wounds. She has been treated and discharged.
Under the supervision of KCRC, the contractors and their workers are now removing the fallen structure in a bid to reopen the access road as soon as possible.
An investigation into the cause of the incident is being carried out jointly by the Corporation and the contractors.
