Statement on an industrial accident at a West Rail work site
 
In response to media enquiries regarding an industrial accident in Tin Shui Wai today (Tuesday), a spokesman for KCR West Rail made the following statement:
At about 10:30 a.m. today, several workers of a West Rail contractor were working near a wooden formwork panel at a West Rail site in Tin Shui Wai when part of the wooden formwork panel (approximately 3 metres high by 6 metres wide) collapsed and hit a 58-year-old male worker nearby. He was taken to the hospital and was later certified dead at 12:01 p.m.
The causes of the accident are being investigated
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation was saddened by the death of the worker and expressed deep sympathy for the family of the deceased.
