Light Rail ticketing machines damaged by vandalism
Seven Octopus ticketing processors and one add value machine at Light Rail Sam Shing Terminus and another seven processors at Siu Lun Stop were found to have been damaged by vandalism about 5:30 a.m. this (Friday) morning.
A report was made to the Police and Light Rail staff were deployed to direct passengers to use other available Octopus machines. Light Rail maintenance staff were sent to the scene to replace or repair the damaged ticketing equipment. The ticketing equipment at these two locations resumed normal functions gradually between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
A KCRC spokesman said the Corporation is working closely with the Police in a bid to track down those who had committed such deplorable acts of vandalism. The spokesman apologized for the inconvenience caused to Light Rail passengers.
