Statement by New KCRC Chairman

The newly-appointed Chairman of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC), Mr Michael Tien Puk-sun, said today that he felt honoured to be appointed to this important position at a crucial time of the Corporation’s development.
"The Corporation is undergoing a massive expansion programme with four new railway projects under various stages of construction. It is also planning for its share of projects under the Railway Development Strategy 2000, which include the Kowloon Southern Link, the Northern Link, the Port Rail Link and depending on the outcome of the competitive bidding, the Sha Tin-Central Link," he said.
"At the same time, the Corporation has been improving its existing services on East Rail, and is expanding the Light Rail."
"The management team has made a significant contribution to the development of railway services to better serve the community."
"I look forward to working closely with the Managing Board and the executives as a team so that KCRC can continue to play a pivotal role in expanding and improving Hong Kong’s railway services," he said.
