All-night KCR East Rail domestic train service on New Year’s Eve
KCR East Rail will provide an all night domestic train service on New Year’s Eve (31 December) for the convenience of the travelling public.
On New Year’s Eve, an all night service will be provided between Hung Hom and Sheung Shui stations. Trains will run with a frequency of 6 minutes between midnight and 2:00 am, 10 minutes between 2:00 am to 3:30 am and 15 minutes between 3:30 am to 5:30 am.
"As with the past long holidays, KCR East Rail will closely monitor the flow of passengers to Lo Wu and regulate the train services as required in order to tie in with the handling capacity of the boundary authorities both on Hong Kong and Shenzhen sides. It is noted that the Immigration Department has arranged additional staff to reinforce the manpower at Lo Wu Control Point and thus smooth cross-boundary traffic is expected," said Mr Anthony Yan, Acting General Manager, East Rail Operations.
Posters have been displayed at all stations informing passengers of the special arrangements. For more details, passengers may approach the Customer Services Centres at Hung Hom, Sha Tin, Tai Po Market, Sheung Shui and Lo Wu stations or call the KCR East Rail Customer Enquiry Hotline on 2602 7799.
