KCR East Rail regulates train service to relieve the passenger flow at Lo Wu
Due to a computer system failure at Shenzhen Frontier Inspection Station this afternoon, KCR East Rail had to take crowd control measures to regulate passenger flow at Lo Wu.
Between 12:45 pm and 1:20 pm, train frequency to and from Lo Wu was maintained at 10 minutes. Public announcements were made to update passengers of the latest development at Lo Wu via the station and train broadcast systems. Lo Wu train service resumed normal at 1:20 pm.
During the incident, KCR East Rail maintained close coordination with Immigration Department and adopted effective crowd control measures to maintain order at the station and platforms. About 2,000 passengers were waiting for trains at the platform at the time of the incident and platform order was good.
