KCR East Rail train services disrupted

Train service on the downline (towards Hung Hom direction) south of Fanling Station was disrupted at 9:47 am today when the power supply at Fanling was interrupted. As a result train service had to be slowed down at the affected section.
Between 10:46 and 10:54 am, it was arranged to have all trains stopped at the station to allow for emergency repairs. Through services were resumed at 10:54 am.
An initial investigation suggests that the incident was caused by the activation of an overhead line protection system. A full investigation is currently being carried out.
A KCRC spokesman clarified that the tripping was not due to a power system failure by CLP.
She apologizes for any inconvenience that may have been caused.
