Lo Wu train services regulated to cope with passenger flow during Easter and Ching Ming

In view of an expected surge in the number of passengers traveling to the Mainland during the Easter and Ching Ming festival period, KCR East Rail will closely monitor passenger traffic at Lo Wu and other stations and regulate train services to ensure a smooth operation.
A spokesman for the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation said close coordination will be maintained with government departments and the boundary authorities so that train services will be regulated to tie in with the handling capacity of the boundary authorities both on the Hong Kong and Shenzhen sides during the peak period.
Northbound traffic at Lo Wu might to a certain extent be affected during the holidays because of improvement works at the Joint Inspection Terminal Building in Shenzhen. Passengers traveling to Shenzhen during the long holidays are advised to listen to radio announcements or call the East Rail Customer Services Hotline on 2602 7799 to obtain information on cross-boundary service arrangements at Lo Wu. The hotline information will be updated every half an hour.
The spokesman reminded passengers to schedule their journeys outside the peak periods in the morning and at dusk. Moreover, passengers should be patient while waiting for immigration clearance.
The boundary at Lo Wu is open from 6:30 am to 12 midnight. The first northbound train departs from Hung Hom Station at 5:30 am, while the last northbound train that cross-boundary passengers can take departs from Hung Hom Station at 11:07 pm.
