New issue of Trackrecord covers topping-out of Mei Foo Station

In the new Trackrecord, we cover the topping-out of another station along the West Rail alignment. Unlike other West Rail stations, however, this one will blend totally into its environment to create a station-in-a-park with recreational amenities for the local community. KCRC Chairman Michael Tien, Board Member Vincent Lo and Chief Executive Officer K Y Yeung officiated at the topping-out ceremony.
Another West Rail story features the arrival of the first train cars that will run on the new railway when it opens for service at the end of 2003. The cars were shipped to Hong Kong from Japan on 21 April and were offloaded over a three-day period.
Also covered in the current issue is the award received by KCRC during the Asian Freight Industry Awards (AFIA) 2002. KCRC won with over 43% of the votes in the "Best Railroad – Asia" category.
Other stories look at the sale of The Metropolis, a joint venture development with Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd; and the new uniforms that have been designed for the Corporation’s frontline staff.
Trackrecord, the official staff newsletter of the KCRC, is published once a month and distributed to all employees, the Corporation’s key stakeholders, consulates, senior government officials, the media and community leaders.
