Light Rail introduces two temporary bus routes during works

Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) will introduce two temporary bus routes on 14 July to serve passengers affected by the temporary closure of a section of Light Rail tracks at Pui To Road in Tuen Mun.
The temporary closure is to facilitate Light Rail grade separation works in Tuen Mun which will upgrade Light Rail into an efficient feeder system of West Rail due for opening towards the end of 2003.
During the temporary closure, the following Light Rail services will be re-arranged with effect from 14 July (Sunday):
•             Route 505 (Sam Shing – Siu Hong) - Frequency of the service will be maintained with a diversion of a section between Kin On Stop and Shek Pai Stop to that between Ho Tin Stop and Tai Hing (North) Stop. The affected section will be served by temporary bus route 505 operating between Shan King and Sam Shing.
•             Route 506 (Tuen Mun Ferry Pier – Yau Oi) - This Light Rail route will be suspended, and replaced by temporary bus route 506 operating between Tuen Mun Ferry Pier and Yau Oi during the closure period.

The Railway Committee of Tuen Mun District Council has been consulted and members generally agreed to the above service arrangements, which are expected to continue until the end of 2003.
Notices, leaflets and platform announcements will be made to inform passengers about the above service arrangements.
For enquiries, passengers are requested to call the Light Rail hotline at 2468 7788.
