Train service regulated to cope with passenger flow during the Chung Yeung Festival
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) today called on passengers who travel to Shenzhen during Chung Yeung Festival holiday to better schedule their journeys and to cross the boundary outside peak hours to avoid congestion.
KCR East Rail will maintain close coordination with government departments and the boundary authorities. Train services will be regulated and passenger flow at Lo Wu and other stations will be closely monitored to cope with the expected surge in the number of passengers traveling to the mainland during Cheung Yeung Festival.
Passengers traveling to Shenzhen during the long holidays are advised to listen to radio announcements or call the East Rail Customer Services Hotline on 2602 7799 to obtain information on cross-boundary service arrangements at Lo Wu. The hotline information will be updated every half an hour. Moreover, passengers should be patient while waiting for immigration clearance.
The boundary at Lo Wu is open from 6:30 am to 12 midnight. The first northbound trains depart at 5:30 am from Hung Hom Station, while the last northbound train that cross-boundary passengers can take departs from Hung Hom Station at 11:07 pm.
