Partial disruption of Light Rail service
 
Light Rail service between Siu Hong Stop and Yuen Long/Tin Shui Wai was affected this morning (28 November) after a section of overhead line was damaged, believed to have been struck by a road vehicle crossing a junction at about 10 a.m.
Initial investigation showed that the overhead line might have been struck and damaged by a high-chassis road vehicle crossing the Light Rail junction at Castle Peak Road and Hung Uk Tsuen Access Road. The incident has been reported to the Police.
Emergency repair was carried out immediately, and full Light Rail service resumed at 11:23 a.m.
During the emergency repair, Light Rail routes 610 (Yuen Long Terminus – Tuen Mun Ferry Pier), 614 (Yuen Long Terminus – Tuen Mun Ferry Pier), 615 (Yuen Long Terminus – Tuen Mun Ferry Pier), 720 (Tin Shui Wai Terminus – Yau Oi) and 721 (Yuen Long Terminus – Tin Shui Wai Terminus) were disrupted. A total of 19 feeder buses were deployed for passengers using the affected routes. The Tuen Mun services were not affected.
Continuous platform announcements were made to inform passengers of the service disruption and staff were deployed at stops to assist passengers. The Corporation apologized for the inconvenience caused to the passengers.
