KCR through train tickets for Chinese New Year go on sale starting 8 December 2002
 
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation today announced that through train tickets for journeys between Hung Hom and Guangzhou East/Dongguan (Changping), Foshan/Zhaoqing, Beijing/Shanghai and intermediate stations for the Chinese New Year period (23 January to 16 February 2003) will go put on sale starting at 6 am on 8 December 2002 (Sunday).
On the first day of ticket sales, passengers will be able to purchase tickets at four designated sales outlets, including the KCR East Rail Intercity Passenger Services Centre at Hung Hom Station, China Travel Service (HK) Ltd (Wanchai and Mong Kok branch offices only) and China Railway (HK) Holdings Ltd (Head office at Chatham Road South). From 9 December (Monday) onwards, through train tickets for Chinese New Year will be available at all other sales outlets.
Passengers are also welcome to book tickets to Guangdong through the Intercity Tele-ticketing & Enquiry Hotline on 2947 7888 using their credit cards. To tie in with the start of ticket sales on 8 December, the service hours of the Intercity Tele-ticketing & Enquiry Hotline will be temporarily changed from 05:00 – midnight to 06:00 – midnight. The hotline service hours will resume to normal hours on 9 December.
