Chairman’s Award acknowledges KCRC’s top performers

Mr Michael Tien, Chairman of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) recently presided over a major staff function – the Chairman’s Award Presentation Ceremony.
This event, which is covered in the latest issue of Trackrecord, recognises outstanding performance by KCRC staff. Six nominees were up for the Individual Award and 15 for the Team Award. Three winners were chosen in each category for their contributions to efficiency and customer service.
As the event got underway, Mr Tien spoke to the audience of KCRC staff regarding his impressions of the Corporation and some of the issues that were on staff members’ minds.
Another story in the current issue of Trackrecord looks at KCRC’s involvement in the Lifeline Express, the hospital trains that provide free operations to cataract patients in remote areas of the Mainland. In November the Corporation helped with the launch of a third hospital train on display at its Sha Tin Freight Yard, while KCRC staff participated in the Walkalong for Light charity walk for this worthwhile cause.
Also covered in the current issue is the first meeting of the Environmental Committee for the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line. Composed of representatives from green groups, environmental consultants and senior KCRC management, the committee was formed to ensure the Spur Line project remains environmentally friendly.
Trackrecord, the official staff newsletter of the KCRC, is published once a month and distributed to all employees, the Corporation’s key stakeholders, consulates, senior government officials, the media and community leaders.
