Progress of new KCR projects covered in new issue of Trackrecord
In the current issue of Trackrecord, we feature a number of stories covering the progress of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation’s (KCRC) new projects. One of these stories focuses on the "West Rail Coming Soon" campaign. This campaign, which is designed to increase public awareness of the new railway before its opening in September 2003, kicked off with a launch ceremony at Tuen Mun Town Plaza on 4 December 2002.
Additional stories feature Chairman Mr Michael Tien’s visit to the East Rail Extensions projects; the preliminary works now underway on the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line; and a visit by the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Environmental Committee to the new bird habitat now being created in accordance with the project’s environmental permit.
In another story we look at the farewell lunch that was held to honour the departing members of the KCRC Managing Board: Mr Denys Connolly, Mr Edmond Lau, Mr Keith Lam and Mr Tim Chung. Among the guests at the function were the new members of the Board – Mr Patrick Blackwell Paul, Mr Wan Man-yee and Mr Patrick Wang – as well as Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works, Dr Sarah Liao; KCRC Chairman Mr Michael Tien; and CEO Mr K Y Yeung.
Also covered in the current issue is an introduction to the completely revamped KCRC website, which is now online at www.kcrc.com, and a description of the site’s main features.
Trackrecord, the official staff newsletter of the KCRC, is published once a month and distributed to all employees, the Corporation’s key stakeholders, consulates, senior government officials, the media and community leaders.
