Collision between diesel locomotive and freight wagons

A diesel locomotive collided with two freight wagons at about 5 pm this afternoon inside the Hung Hom Freight Yard, resulting in the derailment of the two wagons.
No one was injured in the incident.
A spokesman for the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) said the incident had not affected any East Rail train services on the mainline. All domestic trains, inter-city trains, and freight trains are not affected.
The collision occurred at a convergent point where two tracks merged into one. Early indications suggest that human error might have been involved.
In accordance with routine practice, a Committee of Inquiry will be set up to look into the cause of the incident.
