KCRC Cares – "From Our Heart To Their Health"
to staff of the Prince of Wales Hospital

To show our care and concern for the staff of the Prince of Wales Hospital battling atypical pneumonia, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation today (22 March 2003) organized a KCRC Cares – "From Our Heart To Their Heath" signature campaign at Shatin Station.
KCRC staff and passengers joined the event and wrote their special messages on a giant heart to show their support to the nursing staff during this difficult time.
The giant heart will be placed at Sha Tin Station until 6pm tomorrow (23 March 2003) before it is delivered to the Princess of Wales Hospital.
Speaking at an opening ceremony, Mr Y T Li, Director, East Rail, said KCRC spared no effort in showing care and concern to the community. Staff of Prince of Wales Hospital should be given due support and respect for their selflessness in battling the deadly disease.
Mr Li also stressed the importance of a concerted effort from all fronts in the community in meeting this great challenge.
Today’s ceremony was also officiated by Mr Wai Kwok Hung, Chairman of Shatin District Council, Mr Pang Cheung Wai, Vice-Chairman of Shatin District Council, and Mr Philip Chan, Shatin District Officer.
KCR East Rail also carried out a number of additional measures to step up cleaning of its trains and stations to help combat the spread of atypical pneumonia. They include:
