KCRC's fight against SARS featured in new issue Trackrecord
Although the SARS atypical pneumonia outbreak has had a major impact on Hong Kong, Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) staff have continued to provide the same level of service to passengers as before. In the current issue of Trackrecord, we look at examples of our staff’s dedication to passenger service during this difficult time, as well as measures undertaken by the Corporation to combat the spread of the SARS virus.
Also in the current issue is the announcement made by the Corporation’s Managing Board of the restructuring of KCRC’s transport operations into a single new Transport Division. This new division will incorporate West Rail, Light Rail, KCR Bus, East Rail and the future East Rail Extensions, Freight and Intercity Passenger Services.
Another story covers the publication of KCRC’s annual report for 2002 and its tabling in the Legislative Council.
In additional stories, we look at the progress being made on the Corporation’s capital projects. These include reports on a site visit to West Rail by District Council chairmen and vice-chairman; a briefing to LegCo on the West Rail project and Light Rail service reorganisation plan; the topping out ceremony for the Tsim Sha Tsui Extension Tunnels; the Lo Wu improvement project; and the site visit to the Tsim Sha Tsui Extension by the Mainland’s Ministry of Communications.
Trackrecord, the official staff newsletter of the KCRC, is published once a month and distributed to all employees, the Corporation’s key stakeholders, consulates, senior government officials, the media and community leaders
