Light Rail service partially disrupted
Light Rail service in a short section between Hang Mei Tsuen and Tin Wing (six stops) in Tin Shui Wai was disrupted for about one hour this morning (3 September) following a collision between a light rail vehicle and a lorry at a junction north of Tin Shui Stop at about 11:00 am.
Two persons in the lorry were injured and taken to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment. No one on board the route 720 light rail vehicle was injured. Police are making investigation into the incident.
The collision led to the diversion of Light Rail routes 720 and 721. 14 KCRC feeder buses were deployed to shuttle passengers between Tin Wing and Hung Tin Road Emergency Platform at a 5-minute interval.
During the disruption, frequent platform announcements were made about the special traffic arrangements and staff were deployed at stops to assist passengers. The Corporation apologized for any inconvenience caused to passengers.
Service resumed normal soon after the site of the incident was cleared at 12.09 p.m. today
