Slight interruption of Light Rail service
Light Rail service between Tin Wing and Chestwood (two stops) was slightly interrupted for about 45 minutes this morning (9 September) after a light rail vehicle on route 721 went off the track at a rail crossing when approaching Tin Wing Stop at about 9:30 a.m.
During the incident, service of routes 720 and 721 at the affected section was suspended. 10 feeder buses were immediately deployed to shuttle passengers between Tin Shui and Tin Wing. There was no injury in the incident.
Through Light Rail service resumed at about 10:15 a.m. when temporary arrangement was made to divert the service of routes 720 and 721 to another platform at Tin Wing Stop.
Continuous platform announcements were made to inform passengers of the service disruption and staff were deployed at stops to assist passengers.
The Corporation apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
The incident site was cleared at around 12:15 pm.
