Train services will be closely monitored at Mid-Autumn Festival

To cope with the expected surge in the number of passengers traveling to the Mainland during the Mid-Autumn Festival period, KCR East Rail will closely monitor passenger traffic at Lo Wu and other stations and regulate train services to ensure a smooth operation.
A spokesman for the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation said close coordination will be maintained with relevant government departments and train services will be regulated to tie in with the handling capacity of the boundary authorities both on the Hong Kong and Shenzhen sides. It is anticipated that on the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival (10 September) the peak period for passenger to cross the Lo Wu boundary will be between 6 pm and 8 pm. KCR East Rail advises passengers to consider starting their journey at other times in order to minimise the waiting time.
He also reminded passengers to take note of the opening hours of the boundary when planning their journey. The boundary at Lo Wu is open from 6:30 am to 12 midnight. The first northbound train departs from Hung Homg Station at 5:30 am, while the last northbound train departs from Hung Hom Station at 11:07 pm.
Passengers traveling to Shenzhen are advised to listen to radio announcements or call the East Rail Customer Services Hotline on 26027799 to obtain information on cross-boundary service arrangements at Lo Wu.
