Light Rail service disrupted
A section of Light Rail service between Hung Shui Kiu Stop and Lam Tei Stop (four stops) was affected this afternoon (1 December) when a male cyclist aged about 50 was hit by a light rail vehicle at a junction at Castle Peak Road and Ng Lau Road.
The incident occurred at 3:46 pm. The man was hit by a route 614 light rail vehicle (Yuen Long bound). He was injured and sent to hospital. Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
The incident led to diversion of four Light Rail routes (610, 614, 615 and 720). Feeder buses were quickly deployed to shuttle passengers between Hung Tin Road Emergency Platform and West Rail Siu Hong Station. The service resumed normal at 4:40 pm.
During the interruption, continuous platform announcements were made to inform passengers of the service disruption and staff were deployed at stops to assist passengers. The Corporation apologized for any inconvenience caused to passengers.
