New Light Rail route 701 to commence service tomorrow
 
Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) will introduce a new Light Rail circular route 701 operating in Tin Shui Wai South to feed West Rail from tomorrow (16 December).
Route 701 will run from Light Rail Tin Shui Wai Stop, underneath the West Rail Tin Shui Wai Station, in anti-clockwise direction calling at Light Rail stops Tin Tsz, Tin Wu, Ginza, Tin Wing, Chestwood, Tin Shui, Locwood, Tin Yiu and back to Tin Shui Wai Stop.
A special service arrangement will be made for route 701 on 16 December, the first charity trial ride day of West Rail. Service of route 701 will start from 9:30 am on 16 December, half an hour before the start of the West Rail charity trial ride.
From 17 December, route 701 will be operated at normal service hours between 5:27 am and 00:44 am after midnight. The route will be operated at an average frequency of 6 to 7 minutes.
In addition, in accordance with the patronage figure, the three special Light Rail trips on route 751P, currently departing Tin Shui at 7:15 am, 7:30 am and 7:45 am on weekday morning peaks for Yau Oi, will be merged into one trip departing at 7:30 am from Wednesday (17 December).
Staff are deployed on board 751P to notify passengers face-to-face from today about the new service arrangements. Public announcements are made and notices at the concerned stops are also put up to inform passengers.
