West Rail Charity Trial Rides
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) kicks off a 3-day charity trial ride tomorrow (16 December, Tuesday). The general public is encouraged to ride on the new railway to familiarise themselves with the station locations, facilities and the service features.
The West Rail Charity Trial Rides will be held on three consecutive days from 16 December to 18 December (Tuesday to Thursday), from 10:00am to 12:45am on the first day and 5:45am to 12:45 am on the following days.
A flat fare of $15 for adults and $7.5 for children and senior citizens will be charged for each passenger journey during the trial rides. All proceeds will be donated to charity. The beneficiaries of the event include the Community Chest of Hong Kong, Lifeline Express, Yan Oi Tong, Pok Oi Hospital, The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, and Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation.
Passengers can either use the Octopus or buy a single journey ticket for the Trial Rides. The commemorative tickets distributed to the public on the Station Open Days cannot be used for the Charity Trial Rides. Earlier, the Corporation has organised an open day for each of the nine stations which attracted more than 100,000 visitors.
