Light Rail service slightly disrupted after traffic accident
Light Rail service at Ming Kum Stop was slightly affected this evening (2 January) when a boy aged about 15 was hit by a Yuen Long bound route 615 light rail vehicle at a pedestrian crossing at Ming Kum Stop at 7:34 pm.
The injured was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
To minimize impact on passengers, north-bound service of Routes 610 and 615 was diverted to Shan King Stop to bypass Ming Kum Stop. South-bound service resumed normal 10 minutes after the incident. Feeder buses were deployed to run between Tuen Mun Town Centre and Leung King to supplement Light Rail service.
Platform announcements were made to inform passengers of the service disruption and staff were deployed at stops to assist passengers. The Corporation apologized for any inconvenience caused to passengers.
The incident site was cleared at 8:02 pm and normal service resumed.
