KCRC bus route K76 to operate on fare-charging basis

Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) announced today (5 February) that from 9 February, temporary bus route K76 (Tin Heng – West Rail Siu Hong Station) which was introduced in connection with the opening of the Light Rail Tin Shui Wai Extension will operate on a fare-charging basis.
Service level of route K76 will remain unchanged. K76 will continue to run at a frequency of 6 to 7 minutes from 6:30 am to 9:30 am and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday to Saturday. Adult fare for K76 is $4.4 while that of child/senior citizen is $2.2.
A spokesman for KCRC said this was part of the plan to bring the temporary fare-waiver bus routes back to the fare-charging scheme following the opening of West Rail and the new Light Rail Extension, as passengers now became more familiarised with the new service arrangements.
In the meantime, another temporary bus route K62S (Tin Shui Wai – Yuen Long), which will be re-numbered as K70 effective from 16 February, will continue to operate on a fare-waiver basis until further notice. The service pattern of K70 will also be slightly altered. From that day, K70 will provide a single direction service from Tin Shui Wai to Yuen Long from 6:45 am to 8:15 am, Monday to Saturday.
Notices will be posted at stops and sent out to the housing estates. Public announcements will also be made at Light Rail stops to inform passengers about the new arrangements.
For enquiries, passengers may call the KCRC hotline at 2929 3399.
