West Rail service returned to normal

Normal service of West Rail was resumed at 10:55 pm this evening (12 March) after urgent repairs of the signalling problem which occurred at the section between Siu Hong and Yuen Long.
Due to the failure of signalling equipment located at the section at about 8:30 pm, both north bound and south bound service between Siu Hong and Yuen Long was disrupted.
During the affected period, service was maintained at a frequency of about 6 to 7 minutes, but the journey time of the train trips at that section was extended for about 20-30 minutes. Passengers were advised to interchange to Light Rail for free at this section. Light Rail service was strengthened during the affected period.
Public announcements were made and notices were put up at stations to inform passengers of the service delay. Additional staff were deployed at stations and trains to provide assistance to passengers.
The Corporation apologised for any inconvenience caused.
