West Rail service interrupted after power supply system failure
 
(26 April 2004, Hong Kong) West Rail service between Nam Cheong and Mei Foo stations was affected this morning due to the failure of the power supply system at Nam Cheong Station.
At about 6:00 a.m. today, as a result of the failure of the power supply system near Nam Cheong Station, a section of train service between Nam Cheong and Mei Foo was affected. A total of 13 feeder buses were deployed to shuttle passengers between Nam Cheong and Mei Foo at a frequency of 10 minutes. About 500 – 600 passengers took the emergency feeder buses during the period.
Train service from Tuen Mun to Mei Foo was not affected this morning.
The power supply system was resumed at about 7:20 am and through West Rail service returned to normal.
Public announcements and notices were made to inform passengers of the service disruption at stations during the affected period. Staff were deployed at stations to provide assistance to passengers.
The Corporation apologized for any inconvenience caused to passengers.
