Job seekers visit KCRC Job Fair

A total of 2,700 job seekers today (Friday) visited the KCRC Job Fair at the KCR East Rail Tai Wai Station. The event was organised by the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) in support of the recruitment of about 160 staff in preparation for the opening of Ma On Shan (MOS) Rail and Tsim Sha Tsui Extension (TSTE) around the end of this year.
The new posts are in non-management ranks, mainly front-line staff, and fall within three occupational groups, namely, train operations, station operations and maintenance.
KCRC’s Personnel Manager, Mr Francis Wong, said the recruitment was necessary to provide additional manpower to cope with the Corporation’s extension of service to Ma On Shan area and the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui. Training will be provided to the front-line staff to ensure a quality and professional service when the two new railways come into service.
The distribution of the 160 vacant posts is as follows:
Train Operations / Station Operations 120
Maintenance 40
Starting pay ranges from about $8,700 to about $13,500 per month.
Mr Wong also thanked those who visited the Job Fair today.
Application forms will continue to be available for collection from the Corporation's Customer Services Centres along East Rail, West Rail and Light Rail, and for downloading from the KCRC website (http://www.kcrc.com).
Suitable candidates will be invited to attend interviews within six weeks following their applications.
