Kids and senior citizens ride West Rail for only $2
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) today announced the latest promotional offer to encourage more families to use West Rail for fun and leisure outings during weekends and holidays.
Starting this Saturday (12 June 2004), children and senior citizens will be able to travel on West Rail for just $2 on weekends and public holidays. The latest concession, which will run until 27 December 2004, is available to all children aged between 3 and 11 and senior citizens aged 65 and over who travel using Octopus cards.
Children and senior citizens enjoying the "$2 Travel" concession will also continue to enjoy existing interchange discounts between West Rail and other means of transportation.
Mr Michael Lai, KCRC General Manager, Marketing said, "The $2 travel concession is KCRC’s latest initiative to enhance the competitiveness of West Rail."
He added, "There are lots of interesting destinations for family outings along West Rail and the fastest and best way to get there is definitely by riding West Rail. We hope the latest offer will attract more families to use West Rail to explore Hong Kong."
"We are also planning a series of promotional activities this summer to boost West Rail’s patronage."
KCRC has prepared leaflets and public announcements to inform the public of the new concession.
