West Rail to launch promotional programmes

The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) will introduce a series of concession schemes and free service to promote the use of West Rail for recreational and leisure activities.
The programmes will include the launch of West Rail One-Month Pass, Student One-Day Pass, a West Rail and a cross-boundary bus travel package, and a free sightseeing bus route.
Mr Michael Lai, General Manager, Marketing, said, "These are some of the promotional initiatives to attract passengers to travel on West Rail and to boost patronage. We would like to encourage more people to use West Rail."
A One-Month Pass, which will be valid in the month of August, and a Student One-Day Pass, which will be available from 21 July to 31 August, will cost $300 and $18 respectively. Pass holders are entitled for unlimited rides on West Rail and designated feeder services within the ticket validity period.
In addition, KCRC will introduce a West Rail cross-boundary travel package later this summer. West Rail passengers interchanging with a soon-to-be-introduced cross-boundary bus route between Huanggang and West Rail Kam Sheung Road Station will enjoy a through fare of $25.
A sightseeing bus route will also be introduced for West Rail passengers on Sundays and public holidays between September and November. It will run a circular route passing several hot tourist spots in the Northwest New Territories. The route will provide a free hop-on hop-off feeder service to encourage passengers to use West Rail as a travelling mode for leisure.
For enquiries, passengers can call the KCRC Hotline on 2929 3399.
