West Rail Fun All the Way

In a bid to encourage the public to ride West Rail, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) has launched a series of promotional programmes and marketing initiatives that includes connectivity improvement schemes, fare promotions, discount offers by shop tenants and promotional activities.
The centre-piece of the efforts, the "West Rail Fun All the Way" promotional campaign, was launched at a ceremony at West Rail Tin Shui Wai Station on 26 June 2004. The current issue of KCRC’s staff newsletter, Trackrecord, reported the event as well as other exciting programmes that featured duo idol SHINE and pop singers Leo Ku, Yumiko and Isabella at West Rail stations.
More celebrities and performing groups will appear in live shows held at West Rail stations every weekend from now until December.  Details are to be found in posters displayed at KCRC stations and on the KCRC website: www.kcrc.com
In the same issue of Trackrecord, another article highlights the launch of the "Origami Action --- Colouring the Life" campaign on 27 June. Fully supported by KCRC, the occasion also served as the inauguration ceremony for the 200-strong KCRC Corporate Volunteer Team. Together with the campaign organiser, the Social Welfare Department, and the Chinese (HK) Origami Society, these volunteers have pioneered a territory-wide Volunteer Action Programme, the aim of which is to make 30,000 pots of paper flowers. These flowerpots will be given to underprivileged families, symbolising the volunteers’ efforts to create a more harmonious and caring community.
Trackrecord, the official staff newsletter of the KCRC, is published once a month and distributed to all employees, the Corporation’s key stakeholders, senior government officials, the media and community leaders.
