West Rail One-Month Pass extended to year end
In response to the overwhelming response from passengers, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) today announced that the value-for-money offer of the West Rail One-Month Pass will be extended to until the end of the year.
More than 25,000 One-Month Passes were sold in August. In September, the monthly pass will still be offered at the promotional price of $300 for unlimited rides on West Rail and designated interchange modes such as, Light Rail, KCRC buses and other specified feeder services within the month.
From October onwards, each monthly pass will cost $400 for new customers. However, to reward the regular and loyal passengers, those who have bought the September One-Month Pass, will continue to enjoy the previous promotional price ($300) for continuous purchase of the monthly pass until the end of the year.
Mr Michael Lai, General Manager, Marketing, said, "The One-Month Pass launched in August was warmly welcomed by passengers and the patronage of West Rail has increased considerably. The scheme is extended because we want to encourage more people to use West Rail and to enjoy the quality service we offer."
The monthly pass will be available for sale seven days before the end of each month and until the first seven days in the following month. The One-Month Pass for September will be put on sale at all West Rail ticket offices starting Wednesday, 25 August 2004.
