New issue of Trackrecord released

The KCR Tsim Sha Tsui Extension was recently commissioned on 24 October 2004. In preparation for the opening of the new extension and the East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, KCRC staff have worked hard to pool their efforts together.
The current issue of Trackrecord, the staff newsletter of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) runs an article which demonstrates the project’s successful completion is an achievement of teamwork.
Also in the same issue are two articles which carry encouraging news on new patronage records for the KCR network.
On 28 September 2004, the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, West Rail broke its record, carrying 226,000 passengers while Light Rail carried a total of 503,000 passengers. KCRC buses carried a record 80,000 passengers, while East Rail also had a very good, though not a record-setting day. All in all, the Corporation had a record 1.7 million passenger trips during the festival.
In another story which touches on the launch of the West Rail Sightseeing Bus, it is reported that the service has been very well received, carrying more than 4,000 passengers on each day of its operation. The bus runs between several scenic spots in the Northwest New Territories. Launched on 26 September, the bus now runs every Sunday and public holiday until 28 November.
Trackrecord, the official staff newsletter of the KCRC, is published once a month and distributed to all employees, the Corporation’s key stakeholders, senior government officials, the media and community leaders.
