17 expressions of interest received for Wu Kai Sha Station property development
A total of 17 submissions for expressions of interest have been received by the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) for the joint venture property development at Wu Kai Sha Station, Ma On Shan Rail, at the close of submission today.
KCRC’s Director-Property, Mr Daniel Lam, said, "We are pleased with the response, which reflects the developers’ confidence in the potential of the site and the property market."
"The Corporation is committed to developing quality properties whilst maximising the use of the Corporation’s asset," he added.
The 3.4 hectare site will yield about 172,650 sq. m. of gross floor area, comprising 168,650 sq. m. for residential use, 3,000 sq. m. for retail use and 1,000 sq. m. for a kindergarten. A total of 2,528 flats will be provided. The development will be completed in three phases, with Phase 1 anticipated to be completed in 2008.
According to the current plan, the Corporation will invite shortlisted developers to submit tenders for the proposed development during the first quarter of this year while the tender will be awarded in the second quarter. Construction is expected to begin later this year.
The Wu Kai Sha Station property development is among the first batch of sites for which expressions of interest are invited in the year. The Corporation has also planned to invite expressions of interest for the sites at Nam Cheong, Tsuen Wan West (TW7), Yuen Long and Tuen Mun.
