West Rail passengers enjoy more interchange discounts
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) today announced that West Rail passengers will be able to enjoy free interchange with a new green minibus route 81K from 1 February (tomorrow).
Route 81K will be a circular route plying between West Rail Mei Foo Station and Hoi Lai Estate, Sham Mong Road at a promotional fare of $3 for adult/children and $2 for senior citizens. The route will provide a service between 07:00 and 22:00 daily at a frequency of 8 – 10 minutes.
West Rail passengers can interchange with minibus 81K at West Rail Mei Foo Station. To enjoy the concession, passengers must hold a valid West Rail monthly pass/festival pass or use an Octopus card. Passengers using Octopus card must take the minibus within 45 minutes after exiting the West Rail station, or continue their journeys on West Rail from the station within two hours of boarding the minibus.
The interchange concessions are the latest initiatives of the Corporation to enhance the connectivity of West Rail in order to boost West Rail patronage. The Corporation will continue to explore co-operation opportunities with other transport operators.
