West Rail Cultural Heritage Walking Tour
To promote the cultural heritage along West Rail, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) and the Hong Kong Tourist Industry Employees General Union will jointly organise a West Rail Heritage Walking Tour promotion. On Sundays and public holidays between 8 May and 3 July 2005, KCRC will promote four cultural heritage routes in Yuen Long and will arrange on-the-spot briefings by professional cultural tour guides at designated heritage spots.
The four cultural heritage routes being promoted by KCRC are: Kam Tin Shui Tau and Shui Mei Tsuen, Yuen Long Ha Tsuen, Yuen Long Kau Hui and Tai Tong Lychee Valley where famous heritage spots including Kam Tin Tree House, Yi Tai Study Hall and Tung Tau Tsuen Yeung Hau Temple are located.
During the promotion period, Hong Kong Tourist Industry Employees General Union will provide volunteer professional tour guides at key heritage spots to give in-depth briefings on the history and interesting stories about the heritage spots. Tour guide service will be available between 10:00 am and 4:40 pm at an interval of every 20 minutes.
Passengers interested in joining the self-help cultural heritage tour can take West Rail to Kam Sheung Road, Yuen Long or Long Ping stations for redemption of tour label, booklet, route map and discount coupon at the redemption counter located in the station paid area.
Passengers can also refer to the posters displayed at West Rail stations or call the KCRC Hotline at 2929 3399 for details.
