KCRC Mini-Bazaar Charity Sale
To support environmental protection, the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) donated $28,009 to The Conservancy Association today. The proceeds were raised at "KCRC Mini-Bazaar Charity Sale" organised by the Corporation earlier.
More than 600 pieces of items, which were of a great variety and in good condition, were donated by KCRC staff for sale at the Mini-Bazaar on 29 April 2005. The donated items included toys, household products, dining tools and electrical items etc. Apart from the Mini-Bazaar, the Corporation also posted the items on the intranet for bidding by staff members to arouse the excitement for the event.
All proceeds and the remaining items of the charity sale were donated to The Conservancy Association for environmental protection, and ecological and heritage conservation.
To improve the Corporation’s environmental protection performance and working environment, KCRC has set 14 environmental targets to reduce waste and save energy, and has planned to organize a series of activities to improve the environment. KCRC has earlier recruited some 40 ‘Green Ambassador’ to help promote environmental protection.
