New issue of Trackrecord released
The topping-out of Lok Ma Chau Station, the future terminus of the Lok Ma Chau (LMC) Spur Line, is featured in the latest issue of Trackrecord, the newsletter for the staff of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC).
The same issue also reports on the successful excavation of the twin tunnels of the LMC Spur Line. At 3.2km each, they have earned a special place in the record books as the longest tunnels ever bored by a tunnel boring machine in Hong Kong.
Another article carries the news about the launch of a new KCRC publication <Fun Ride @ kcr>, which provides useful and interesting information and news on KCRC services and promotional activities, including special offers and discount coupons offered by shops in KCRC stations / shopping centres.
KCRC continued with its community activities, some of which supported its environmental targets set earlier in the year. One such activity was the Mini-Bazaar Charity Sale which advocated recycling for a worthy cause. Staff members were asked to donate items which were then put up for sale to other colleagues at the Mini-Bazaar. All the proceeds ($28,009) and unsold items were donated to The Conservancy Association to support environmental protection, and ecological and heritage conservation in Hong Kong.
Trackrecord, the official staff newsletter of the KCRC, is published once a month and distributed to all employees, the Corporation’s key stakeholders, senior government officials, the media and community leaders.
