KCRC receives seven tenders for Wu Kai Sha property development project
 
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) has received seven tenders for joint venture property development at Wu Kai Sha Station, Ma On Shan Rail (MOS Rail).
Speaking after today’s closing of submission, KCRC’s Director - Property, Mr Daniel Lam, said, "We are satisfied with the response as it reflects the confidence of developers in the potential of the site and the property market. The Corporation will carefully examine the tenders, with a view to awarding the tender this month and commencing construction later this year."
The proposed development is atop the northern terminus of MOS Rail, which enables passengers to get to the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui in approximately 30 minutes on MOS Rail and East Rail.
Occupying an area of 3.4 hectares, it will produce approximately 172,650 sq. m. of gross floor area, comprising 168,650 sq. m. for residential use, 3,000 sq. m. for retail use and 1,000 sq. m. for a kindergarten.
Seven residential blocks of 40 to 48 storeys will be built on a three-storey podium over the Public Transport Interchange for Wu Kai Sha Station to provide some 2,528 residential flats.
The project will be completed in three phases, with Phase 1 anticipated to be completed in 2008.
The Wu Kai Sha Station property development is the first site for which the Corporation has invited tenders in the year.
