KCRC launches KCR Railbus – Disneyland service
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) will launch KCR Railbus – Disneyland, an integrated rail and bus service for cross boundary travellers between Lo Wu and Hong Kong Disneyland, on 12 September 2005.
KCRC General Manager – Marketing Mr Michael Lai said, "Like many Hong Kong people, we are thrilled about the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland and the business opportunities it offers.
"We believe the theme park will attract a large number of Mainland tourists going to Disneyland through Lo Wu. Our Railbus – Disneyland service will offer premium transportation service for Mainlanders who visit the theme park."
Railbus passengers will board East Rail at Lo Wu Station and then switch to luxury single-deck buses at Sheung Shui Station, where a designated waiting lounge and bus bays will be provided, for a non-stop journey to Disneyland.
The buses will be provided by a KCRC business partner. The first bus will depart Sheung Shui Station at 7:30am and the last departure from Disneyland will be one hour after fireworks display.
Railbus tickets will be sold as a package and will be available at Mainland travel agencies and the KCR Railbus Ticketing Centre at Lo Wu Station. The price of the package, which will be available for both one-way and return journeys, will be determined at a later stage.
Customer services staff will greet Disneyland-bound visitors at Lo Wu Station, the Sheung Shui Station waiting lounge and at the Disneyland public transport interchange to provide assistance to passengers going to the theme park as well as those returning to Lo Wu.
