KCRC extends East Rail One-Month Pass and West Rail Festival Pass
The Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) today announced the extension of the East Rail One-Month Pass and the West Rail Festival Pass to the end of March 2006 and the end of May 2006 respectively. The Festival Pass will also be renamed the Discovery Pass starting from 1 September 2005.
The East Rail One-Month Pass scheme, introduced in April 2005 and priced at $380, was originally scheduled to end in September 2005. Upon extension of the scheme, all the terms and conditions of the Pass will remain unchanged. Holders of the Pass can enjoy unlimited standard class journeys during the valid period to and from all East Rail and Ma On Shan Rail stations except Lo Wu and Racecourse stations. They can also enjoy free East Rail feeder bus services on routes K12 (except on Sundays and public holidays), K14, K16, K17 and K18.
Passengers who are now eligible to purchase the Pass at a special price of $300 will continue to enjoy the special offer provided that they use the same Octopus card to buy the Pass every month.
The $20 West Rail Festival Pass, or the Discovery Pass from 1 September 2005, is a single day pass valid for unlimited journeys on the day of purchase on West Rail, Light Rail, KCR Buses and other designated feeder services. All the terms and conditions of the current Festival Pass will remain unchanged after being renamed the Discovery Pass. The offer of the Festival Pass, first introduced on 20 December 2004, was originally scheduled to finish at the end of this month.
KCRC will continue to explore other promotional initiatives to bring more benefits to its passengers.
